Born in the Bronx to an NYPD homicide detective father, Robert J. Tracy's career in law enforcement spans over three decades across three of America's most challenging cities. His journey from NYPD detective to St. Louis Police Commissioner reflects a lifelong commitment to making communities safer through intelligence-led policing and genuine community partnerships.

Commissioner Tracy became the first outsider in 214 years to lead the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department, bringing a proven track record of dramatic crime reductions in every city he has served.
